About Your Role as a Lunch & Recess Paraprofessional
This is a hands-on part-time position with day-to-day duties that include supporting, supervising and assisting students within the cafeteria and playgrounds as needed.
Hours: Part-Time, Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Compensation: $18.00 to $22.05 per hour (Bromley recognizes up to 11 years of relevant experience)
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Implements procedures for a safe, clean, and efficient lunchroom.
- Assists with cleaning and maintaining the cafeteria during student lunch periods.
- May assist in supervising recess and ensure a safe and orderly environment for all students.
- Effectively communicates with supervisors, colleagues, and students.
- Enforces safety and security standards.
- Participates in required training.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College coursework preferred.
- 1 + years of experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong desire to work and connect with students in a positive way and at their developmental level.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Basic creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage large groups of students.
