About Your Role
This is a hands-on, part-time position with day-to-day duties that include providing comprehensive support in communications, marketing, and community engagement. The role involves drafting and reviewing communications, implementing marketing strategies, managing social media and website content, and fostering community connections. This position will ensure alignment with BECS's core values, mission, and vision while maintaining professional and effective communication across all platforms.

In addition to strong communication and marketing skills, this role also calls for a creative eye. You’ll design flyers, social media graphics, and promotional materials in alignment with our Brand Guidelines. While expert-level design skills aren’t required, confidence in visual creation and a strong sense of branding are essential.

Work Schedule: Year-round position, 30 hours/week (possibility of full-time)
Shift: Tuesday - Friday, 8 AM - 3:30 PM
Compensation Range: $53,550 - $65,516 (depending on experience; Bromley honors up to 11 years of relevant experience)




Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
Communications & Content Creation
  • Draft and review school-wide and public communications.
  • Establish communication templates for sensitive situations.
  • Implement newsletter strategy and create content for parent and staff newsletters.
  • Author stories highlighting the BECS core values, mission, and vision.
Marketing & Promotion
  • Implement and collaborate on marketing strategies with approved affiliates and marketing collaborators for BECS.
  • Distribute and post marketing materials to local businesses and on social media platforms.
  • Prepare marketing materials, including postcards, flyers, newspaper advertisements, and social media postings.
  • Create visually compelling, on-brand designs for digital and print materials using Canva or similar tools.
  • Design promotional items for BECS merchandise.

Social Media Management
  • Manage social media accounts, including Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Create and post materials aligning with the BECS social media strategy.
  • Monitor social media activity, including parent Facebook pages and community platforms like Next Door.
  • Notify administration of important information and collect evidence of concerns.
Website Management
  • Maintain up-to-date information and functionality on the BECS website and mobile app.
  • Create, update, and edit website and mobile app content, which could include general information, photos, videos, articles, blog posts, and other online content.
  • Ensure the website remains functional for all users and meets ADA accessibility requirements.
  • Analyze website performance and implement SEO strategies to increase online presence.
  • Follow BECS branding and strategy guidelines.
Community Engagement
  • Attend school and community events to foster relationships, create story content, and represent Bromley East.
  • Build connections with community organizations such as the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, or Optimist Club.

Assist with other duties as assigned.


Education
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, advertising, communications, or related field required.

Type of Experience Needed to be Successful
  • 3 + years of experience in marketing, communications, or related fields preferred.

Specialized Skills
  • Advanced understanding of effective marketing and communications strategies, with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive plans that enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication abilities, including proficiency in public speaking and delivering impactful presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced organizational capabilities, ensuring meticulous attention to detail in all tasks and projects, thereby maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Advanced skill in managing time efficiently, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines consistently, even in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
  • Advanced analytical skills, enabling the identification and resolution of complex problems through innovative and strategic thinking.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software, effectively utilizing these tools to enhance productivity and streamline processes.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Canva or other design tools, with the ability to produce professional, on-brand marketing materials. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Ability to apply visual design principles and brand consistency across a variety of platforms and media types.
